Sigma Software has partnered with the First National Veteran Pickleball Championship, which took place in Kyiv in early April.
The event, organized by the Ukrainian Pickleball Federation with the support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and various partners, brought together over 100 participants from across the country. They competed in four categories: veterans without injuries, those with invisible wounds, wheelchair athletes, and athletes with prosthetics.
This championship is much more than a sporting event. It is about the strength of spirit born through movement and interaction, about community, support, and respect, and about the ability to take on challenges and choose life.
In addition to the tournament, the event included training sessions and a practical component. For our company and the entire ecosystem, supporting the military and veterans is a key priority. This is why the Sigma Software University team held a session for participants on opportunities in IT. Volodymyr Yantsov, Program Manager of the educational platform, spoke about the industry, modern AI tools, and development prospects. Veterans were also given the opportunity to take free basic online courses, including English, Python, and other fields.
We are proud to have been part of this unique event for Ukraine and to have contributed to the incredible atmosphere of the competition. Twenty-four winners of the championship received gifts from Sigma Software and Sigma Software Unity Fund.
The recovery and rehabilitation of service members is one of the key challenges facing our society today—and, at the same time, our shared responsibility. In this process, sports help people unite, support one another, and transition back to civilian life.
As a socially responsible business, Sigma Software, together with the Sigma Software Unity Fund, supports the military, veterans, and communities. Since the start of the full-scale war, over $5.5 million in aid has been directed toward supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilians affected by the war. We also develop educational programs for veterans and support our colleagues in their reintegration after returning from the front.
Inspired by Unity!
